Our design:
We will choose two sites at high, medium and low sites. At each of these elevations, we will have one site in scrub and one in the open, collecting a sample of the populations in each of these areas. We will potentially collaborate with another group to increase the data we are able to collect. We aim to have the two sites at each elevation relatively close to identify any selection despite genetic drift however the different elevations will not be too close.

Strengths:
This design is consistant at each elevation, allowing greater replication than if we were to include woodland
Collaboration with another group would increase replication, reducing the likelihood of genetic drift affecting the differences.

Weaknesses:
We are changing two variables at once, potentially making the data harder to analyse, as it makes it harder to identify whether the differences are due to the different environments (selection) or due to genetic drift.
We are not including woodland therefore we will be lacking data for that variable, however, with the time and resources availible, we decided that this was a reasonable sacrifice.
